Staff/Faculty Position

High Performance Computing and AI Technologies in Agriculture: learn a range of AI computational skills on high performance computers (HPCs) while predicting dynamics of agroecosystems (ARS location: Starkville, MS).

High Performance Computing and Prediction of Geospatial Dynamics: learn about the challenges in predicting dynamics of complex agro-ecosystems while learning a range of computational skills needed to conduct complex geospatial analyses in an HPC environment (multiple ARS locations).

Research Scientist I: This project focuses on the utilization of data from unmanned systems to assess vegetation and water quality management issues in natural areas. The Research Scientist is expected to engage and work individually or as part of a team with other scientists and stakeholders to assist with grant writing, experimental design, data collection and analysis related to research efforts, and assist with data dissemination.

Research Associate II, III, or Senior: This project focuses on the utilization of high-performance computing for addressing geospatially based issues in agriculture (including wildlife utilization thereof). The research associate will support a team of scientists working on individual and team research that falls under this broad umbrella.

Visiting Scholars/Postdoc Opportunities

Biomathematician/Biostatistician: to develop novel mathematical and statistical tools for describing spatial phenomena using high-resolution remote sensing and biotelemetry datasets, coupled to applications in high-performance computing to facilitate rapid data analysis.

Visiting Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor: The Geosystems Research Institute (GRI) seeks visiting professors to assist MSU in advancing agricultural research through high performance computing (HPC).

Postdoctoral Associate: The Quantitative Ecology and Spatial Technologies (QuEST) Laboratory and Geosystems Research Institute (GRI) seeks to hire a Biomathematician/Biostatistician to develop novel mathematical and statistical tools for describing spatial phenomena using high-resolution remote sensing and biotelementry datasets, coupled to applications in high-performance computing to facilitate rapid data analysis.

Student Researcher: GRI Student researchers will perform a variety of duties in relation to research being conducted by Geosystems Research Institute faculty.
