NGI Receives Allocation in First Round of Funding to Study the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill
June 15, 2010The Northern Gulf Institute (NGI) will receive $10 million as part of BP's commitment to pledge $500 million to the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative. The funding will be used to study the effects of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
NGI is a NOAA cooperative institute which is led by Mississippi State University and partners with the University of Southern Mississippi, Louisiana State University, Florida State University and the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. For more information please view the BP Press Release.
