The GeoResources Information Directory contains information about publications and other technical documents and reports resulting from the GeoResources Institute and its various projects. Here you will also find funding opportunities within the Institute along with a sampling of our major collaborators involved.

The GeoResources Institute (GRI) actively interacts with regional, state and federal governments and agencies, private landowners, and other organizations to identify and prioritize major concerns. Depending on the identified issue, the GRI works with this diverse clientele to develop:

  • Applied or fundamental research projects to fill knowledge gaps; and
  • Pilot projects to demonstrate, validate, and verify the operational efficiency of potential solutions.

Based in the National Science Foundation's ERC at Mississippi State University, the GRI campus organization includes the Remote Sensing Technologies Center, Mississippi's Water Resources Research Institute, the Computational Geospatial Technologies Center, and the Visualization, Analysis, and Imaging Laboratory. These organizations, along with the professional capabilities of GRI-Stennis, provide a concentrated level of expertise and educational opportunities not available elsewhere in the geospatial sciences.
