What: 36th Annual Conference Youth — The Real Future of the South
When: June 1-3, 2008
Where: The Peabody Little Rock, Little Rock, Arkansas

As today’s workforce ages, it is critical that the Southern region cultivate the vision, talents and passions of our youth. Developing the potential of Southern youth, listening to their views, and inspiring them to take action in our communities is vital to the economic future of our region.

Southern Growth’s 2008 annual conference and Report on the Future of the South will focus on youth development and engagement and strategies for building policies and partnerships to foster youth leadership skills, workforce readiness, volunteerism, entrepreneurship and the traits to become active, responsible citizens.

Hosted by Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe, the conference will include keynote presentations, panel discussions and best practices on youth development and engagement, as well as the presentation of the Southern Growth Innovator Awards, a town hall meeting with Southern Governors and opportunities to network with regional leaders from business, government and higher education.
